As she finished her business pitch during a competition Tuesday, the timekeeper yelled at Frances Titus: “Time!”
And just like that, the two minutes of pitch, which she had spent six hours preparing, ended.
“There is a lot you want to say, but you have to cut the fat,” she said.
The preparation paid off when Titus’ Earth’s Love Tea Co. beat nine others during the opening round of the InnovateHER competition in Orlando. Next, judges will choose from winners across the country to send 10 companies to a national pitch competition March17 in Washington, D.C.
In March, Cocoa Beach-based Shower Shirt finished second and won $20,000. But success in these kinds of contests does more for entrepreneurs than just land them cash.
“It gives you validation,” said Titus of Orlando. “When you’re on this entrepreneurial journey, there are a lot of doubts that you have and challenges you have. I do sometimes question myself.” Read the full article here…
